Expat
Tax Incentives
Gibraltar aims to attract HNWI residents
Gibraltar has passed new rules amending the tax incentives
available to High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and Relocated
Expatriates Possessing Specialist Skills (REPSS) taking up residence
in Gibraltar.
The HNWI scheme is designed to make it easier to achieve HNWI
and residency status in Gibraltar, following record numbers
of applications in the last year.
Expat Tax Incentives - Gibraltar
The requirement that HNWIs occupy their residence in Gibraltar
for a minimum of 30 days, for example, has been waived. Instead,
they will be required to have a property in Gibraltar, either
for their exclusive use or for renting, throughout the year.
Until now, REPSS have been taxed on the first £45,000
of accessible income, but with a minimum tax payable of £10,000
per annum. Under the changes, a new category has been created
for qualifying individuals with income arising from their employment
in Gibraltar below £50,000.
