When Chris Sutton, Managing Director, Expatriate Banking,
Lloyds TSB Offshore was told they had won the award for
Best Expatriate Bank he was understandably delighted.
"This is fantastic news" he said "especially
as this award is voted for by our customers and potential
customers. I can't think of a bigger accolade than to
have your customers saying they appreciate you."
Lloyds TSB started re-engineering their Expatriate Banking
offer about 16 months ago with the introduction of the
International Account and the International Premier Account.
Chris explained: “Our starting point was to put
ourselves in our customers' shoes. We realised that we
needed to tailor our products and our service - it was
no longer appropriate just to offer an Offshore Bank Account
- we had to make our offer match different types of customer
requirements whether those customers are working abroad,
retiring abroad, looking for secure banking or indeed
if they were based in the UK but had a currency requirement.
"At the same time we embarked on a programme of opening
international representative offices to give us selected
local as well as global presence. In the last 18 months
we've opened offices in Shanghai, Johannesburg, Cape Town,
Connecticut and Limassol complimenting the existing Lloyds
TSB offices in Dubai, Hong Kong, Isle of Man, Jersey,
London and Miami. And we've plans for more."
"We've beefed up our web offering and are working
on further improvements, particularly around the effectiveness
of our back office processes. We realised that to offer
a truly international bank account we need to be available
so customers can talk or transact with us, 24/7 365 days
of the year."
To have customers take the time and effort to pat us on
the back like this really gives all our staff a great
buzz.
