Standard Life Wealth appoints ex Scotland rugby star to their team |

Standard Life Wealth, the investment manager for private clients, has appointed Craig Joiner, the ex Scotland rugby international, to join their Edinburgh team. Craig joins the team today as Client Portfolio Manager from Cornelian Asset Managers where he filled the same position. His main responsibilities include managing client portfolios, developing and managing client relationships, and working closely with the IFA community - key partners for Standard Life Wealth. Richard Charnock, Standard Life Wealth Chief Executive said: "Craig's five years at Cornelian provides him with a wealth of experience in the active management of client portfolios. In addition to his role as Client Portfolio Manager, he sat on the investment committee and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment. Craig is a proven winner with strong investment credentials that we are confident will be welcomed by our clients. I'm really pleased to welcome Craig to the team." Craig Joiner said: "Standard Life Wealth is one of the fastest growing discretionary fund managers in the UK at the moment and I was impressed by their ability to produce positive returns in challenging market conditions. It's great to be a part of a dynamic and fresh business and I'm excited about the opportunities which lie ahead for me and the company. " Craig Joiner is a former Rugby International. He won 25 caps playing on the wing for the Scottish rugby union side between 1994 and 2000. He graduated from Loughborough University with a 2i in Chemical Engineering in 1999. He then went on to work for Cornelian Asset Management as a Client Portfolio Manager where he also sat on the Investment Committee. Clients included Personal Portfolios, Charities, Trusts, Sipps and company pension schemes. He holds a CISI Diploma and an IMC.
