The Sierra Leone Trade and Investment Forum, Event in London on November 18th 2009 Date:18 November 2009, 09.00 GMT Venue: London – Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre Major figures from business including George Soros and Lord Stevenson, along with former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and leading members from the country’s Government, will highlight the range of opportunities available in Sierra Leone, and the country’s readiness for substantial international investment, at an event in London on November 18th 2009. Following seven years of stability and steady growth including two internationally recognised elections and on-going economic reforms, the country offers many exciting opportunities to committed investors. the country’s first such event, will provide wide-ranging insights into the progress the country has made and the opportunities now available. Contributions will include: Presentations from leading members of Government on recent reforms and new opportunities, including the President of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma Endorsements by renowned international figures and investors, including the Rt Hon Tony Blair, George Soros and Lord Stevenson Detailed breakout sessions on major growth sectors in the Sierra Leone economy, including agriculture, mining, energy, fisheries and tourism Guidance on financing deals in Sierra Leone by leading global finance agencies as well as local commercial banks and investment funds The Forum will also feature exhibitions stalls, meeting spaces and networking spaces offering opportunities for participants to engage in formal and informal discussions and dialogue.
