The latest issue of Britannias popular Optimum Growth Bond is on sale now. The bond is linked to the performance of the FTSE 100 stock market index the index of the UKs leading 100 companies. Britannia says it offers the possibility of 130 per cent of any growth in the index over 51/2 years. However, it also includes an early maturity feature where, if the FTSE 100 grows by 29 per cent or more after 31/2 years, the bond matures automatically with a return of 29 per cent (7.53% AER). The original capital is guaranteed to be returned in full regardless of what the market does.
