South America 'offers investment opportunities'

Anyone looking to invest in overseas property in 2008 could do worse than the Latin American market

Thats according to Paul Collins, overseas property editor for BuyAssociation.

Collins said that areas such as Panama, Belize and Argentina should all prove popular with investors.

He said: "With South America there are more and more direct flights going there all the time anyway and you also have the US market, which you can rent to, particularly with places like Brazil."

Collins added that closer to home areas such as central and eastern Europe would continue also remain popular with investors, "particularly because of the holiday market."

According to aspectestates.co.uk, Panama attracts wealthy individuals and retired people as foreign income is not taxable in the country.

And any potential currency exchange rate risks are lessened by the fact that the official currency of Panama is the US dollar.
