Foreign workers fill up to 58% of all positions available in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, a new survey from TalentRepublic.net has found. Research by the employment portal indicates the majority of domestic workers fill public positions. Expats are predominantly employed in the private sector.Further data from Madar Research indicated that in the UAE, expats may account for a massive 87% of the country’s workforce. Countries such as the UAE prove attractive to UK citizens because earnings are free of tax in the emirates. The UAE has invested heavily in healthcare in recent years. There are currently more than 40 hospitals and 115 centres for primary care in the country. However, UK citizens planning to relocate abroad should carefully investigate insurance arrangements. The regulations and quality of healthcare vary enormously from country to country, and it is imperative that an adequate insurance policy is in place.
